We are looking for an Accountant to manage all financial transactions, with the main responsibility of processing payroll from fixed payments and variable expenses to bank deposits and budgets.

Accountant responsibilities include assisting with auditing financial documents and procedures, processing payroll and reconciling bank statements. To be successful in this role, you should have previous experience with bookkeeping and a flair for spotting numerical mistakes.

Ultimately, you will assist in providing us with accurate quantitative information on financial position, liquidity and cash flows of our business, while ensuring we’re compliant with all regulations.

Accountant Job Responsibilities:

  • Provides financial information to management by researching and analyzing accounting data; preparing reports.
  • Prepares asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
  • Documents financial transactions by entering account information.
  • Recommends financial actions by analyzing accounting options.
  • Summarizes current financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports.
  • Substantiates financial transactions by auditing documents.
  • Maintains accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.
  • Guides accounting clerical staff by coordinating activities and answering questions.
  • Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
  • Secures financial information by completing database backups.
  • Maintains financial security by following internal controls.
  • Prepares payments by verifying documentation, and requesting disbursements.
  • Answers accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting accounting policy and regulations.
  • Complies with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
  • Prepares special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
  • Protects operations by keeping financial information confidential.
  • Prepares ledger entries with earnings and deductions.
  • Enters payroll information and maintains payroll files.
  • Calculates salaries, overtime earnings, and vacation deductions.
  • Issues paychecks in a timely manner.
  • Generates payroll reports for Managers to review.
  • Updates payroll systems, including employment hires and terminations.
  • Prepares payroll and tax reports for federal, state, and local agencies when required.
  • Attends to payroll inquiries from employees.

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting, or finance
  • CPA preferred but not required
  • Minimum 5-10 years’ experience in accounting/finance
